Booking Terms

Last updated September 28, 2026

These terms apply when you request a consultation with Sara Riboldi, Barrister and Solicitor, operating as Live In Italy ("we", "us").

Your booking is a request

Choosing a time on our website sends us a consultation request and holds that time for you. It is not a confirmed appointment.

We review every request, including a conflict of interest check, and may accept or decline it at our discretion. If we decline, we'll let you know by email, no fee is charged, and no lawyer-client relationship is formed.

Identity verification

If we accept your request, we'll invite you to our secure client portal and ask you to upload a valid government-issued photo ID. The name on your ID must match your request. Please have the same ID with you at your consultation.

Consultation fee

The consultation fee is $400 CAD plus applicable taxes. The taxes that apply depend on where you live.

Once we've verified your ID, we'll send you a secure payment link. Your appointment is confirmed when payment is received. Your payment is held in our trust account until the consultation takes place and is then applied to your consultation invoice.

Fees are charged in Canadian dollars. If you pay with a card issued outside Canada, your card issuer may apply its own exchange rate or fees.

Completing the steps in time

Please complete identity verification and payment at least 48 hours before your appointment. If they aren't completed by then, we may release your appointment time. You're welcome to request a new time.

Cancellation policy

You may cancel or reschedule your consultation free of charge up to 48 hours before the appointment, and any fee paid will be refunded.

For cancellations within 48 hours of the appointment, or if you do not attend, the consultation fee may be retained. We may, at our discretion, offer to reschedule instead.

Repeated late cancellations or missed appointments may result in the fee being retained and future requests being declined.

Scope of the consultation

The consultation is a limited-scope engagement: a 60-minute video meeting to discuss your situation, based on the information you provide, and your options.

We do not act for you beyond the consultation, and are not responsible for any deadlines or further steps in your matter, unless we both sign a separate engagement letter.

Confidentiality

Please don't send confidential details before we've accepted your request. Information you share with us is kept confidential and handled as described in our privacy policy.
