Privacy Policy
Sara Riboldi, Barrister and Solicitor, operating as Live In Italy ("we", "us"), respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
What we collect
When you contact us, register for an event, or request a consultation, we collect the details you give us: your name, email address, phone number, country and province or state of residence, the service you're interested in, your message, and, for citizenship by descent, your answers to our eligibility questions.
If we accept your consultation request, we also collect a copy of your government-issued photo ID through our client portal. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we never see or store your full card number.
How we use it
We use your information to respond to you, to review and schedule consultations, to check for conflicts of interest, to verify your identity, to provide legal services, to bill for them, and to meet our professional obligations as lawyers. If you opt in, we also email you updates about events and legal developments; you can unsubscribe at any time.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the practice, and only as needed for the purposes above:
Clio (practice management, client portal and payments; data stored in Canada), Netlify (website hosting and form handling), Resend (automated email delivery), Zoho (email), Microsoft (calendar), and Zoom (video consultations). Some of these providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible under local law.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as we need it for the purposes above and as required by our professional record-keeping obligations. If we don't proceed with your consultation request, we keep only what we need to record that decision and avoid conflicts of interest.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent to its use (subject to legal and professional obligations), by emailing info@liveinitaly.law. If you have concerns about how we've handled your information, please contact us first; you can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
